The Great Wall of China

The Great Wall of china was a wall of defense back in the times when China had wars. It was first built in the 7th century B.C. when China was still divided into many small states. It was built to keep away invaders and withstand the attack of swords and spears. Soldiers, common people and criminals were tasked to build this war and many died during its construction due to heavy work,short time limit and tough conditions. To me, it might just be a wall but to China, it is a representation of their ancient civilization and a form of defense back then. Many were sacrificed just for this wall.
